HSEQ Manager | Construction Compliance | Letchworth | Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + car allowance, pension & discretionary bonus
Our client is a privately owned construction company with traditional values and an excellent reputation. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join their team in North Hertfordshire.
This is a compliance-focused role rather than a traditional site-based health and safety position. You will work closely with the contracts management team, managing HSEQ systems, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining accreditations, implementing ISO standards and coordinating health and safety documentation across the business.
Key responsibilities will include managing risk assessments and method statements, maintaining insurance and certification records, supporting audits, monitoring supply chain compliance, and ensuring CSCS, CDM and health & safety requirements remain up to date.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma (preferably construction focused)
- Proven experience leading ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 certification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience across health & safety and quality within construction, retail fit-out, building or electrical contracting
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S, environmental and quality legislation
- Experience with UKAS certification audits and integrated management systems
- Previous experience working within an SME environment
- Strong communication, leadership and supplier engagement skills
Desirable:
- Internal auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
- IIRSM membership
- Experience with supply chain auditing and risk assessments
- Understanding of Building Safety Act 2022 requirements
Candidates are likely to come from a construction background with experience in H&S coordination, compliance or quality management. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, are essential.
