The Opportunity

An established specialist contractor in the field of passive fire protection is looking to appoint an  Estimator as part of its continued growth across London and the Home Counties.

Working across the commercial and industrial sectors, the business delivers specialist passive fire protection solutions on a range of projects and is now looking for an Estimator who can take ownership of the tendering process and play a key role within the business.

This is not a high-volume estimating role buried within a large corporate structure. You will work directly with the Owner / Managing Director, giving you genuine exposure to the commercial side of the business and the opportunity to make a real impact.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take projects from initial tender through to submission, including:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Producing detailed estimates and quotations for passive fire protection works, working from an established schedule of rates.
• Carrying out quantity take-offs and assessing labour and material requirements.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identifying risks, exclusions and commercial opportunities.
• Preparing competitive and commercially robust tenders.
• Liaising with main contractors, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an Estimator who understands passive fire protection or someone from and allied sector such as drylining or fit out and is comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload.
