Design Manager Construction | Zone 1 London | Up to £90,000 + package + bonus

This isn’t a consultancy-led design role.
This is about driving design on live projects, solving problems, and delivering buildable solutions in one of the most challenging environments in the UK.

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor trusted by Tier 1 main contractors to deliver their specialist services on heritage, listed buildings and complex façade/building envelope works.

They’re looking for a Design Manager with a contractor’s mindset — someone who understands how design translates on site, not just on paper. Equally you could be working as a Project Manager and looking for a new challenge in Design Management.

The Role

You’ll take control of design coordination on packages up to £10m, working directly with Tier 1 project teams and managing the interface between design, commercial, and site delivery.

What They’re Looking For

• Background with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Strong all-round construction knowledge
• Experience delivering façades / building envelope / external works (highly desirable)
• Comfortable operating in tight, complex London sites and climbing the odd scaffold.
• Someone who can take ownership, make decisions and drive outcomes
