Development Designer – Technical Designer – Furniture – Solidworks – Northants

Up to £37,500 plus health and pension

Our client is a niche business who operate in the global retail fit out industry, providing a turnkey solution for the production and delivery of bespoke retail interiors.

Operating in more than 10 countries worldwide, with state of the art joinery and furniture manufacturing facilities, they have established their own supply chain, allowing them to respond to tenders in a timely and cost effective fashion, further strengthening their position in what is a highly competitive market place.

Their reputation and an ever increasing demand for their unique skills has created a new role for a Development Designer to work exclusively on Conceptual and Technical Designs for store furnishings.

It’s likely you will already be working in the design industry for either a specialist furniture manufacturer, design practice or shop fit out contractor. With a minimum of three years’ experience in a design led role. You will be responsible for producing drawings in 3D, ready for manufacture.

Working closely with the sales and project teams you will establish briefs and project deliverables, ensuring designs are to brand approval and delivered on time and budget. Not only a creative thinker, you will have the technical ability to analyse and critique designs, liaise with manufacturing to create solid fixtures and furnishings for high end stores.

Applicants must be qualified, either a degree or vocational training in product, furniture or interior design and competent in both 2D and 3D design, using AutoCAD and Solidworks.

Projects are international, so you there will be the necessity to travel on occasions, so a valid passport and driving licence are essential.
