The Role

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor within their consultancy, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services both pre and post contract. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Cost Management Expertise: Employing your expertise to manage and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
  2. Contract Administration: Overseeing contracts, agreements, and tendering processes, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
  3. Budget Forecasting and Analysis: Developing accurate cost plans, providing detailed financial reports, and conducting thorough analyses to aid decision-making and value engineering.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee successful project outcomes and foster strong relationships.
  5. Project Oversight: Monitoring and evaluating progress against benchmarks, ensuring adherence to program and budget.

Requirements for Chartered Quantity Surveyor role

  • Chartered Status: MRICS or FRICS accreditation is essential, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and expertise.
  • Experience: Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management role within the construction sector, working for either a consultancy or tier 1 contractor.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools for cost estimation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: The capacity to analyse complex issues, offer innovative solutions, and make informed decisions.
